• Lower rank numbers are better: No. 1 is above No. 20.
• Gameplay is based on ranking position, while each reveal also shows that team's FIFA points.
• The women's ranking uses the same match-by-match Elo-style logic as the men's table, with points moving after each recognised international.

The rank is ordinal; the points show how compressed or stretched the ladder really is.
