What Industrial Football Measures

This game compares cumulative transfer expenditure by club across the last 10 seasons, using Transfermarkt totals from 2016/17 through 2025/26.

  • The figure is money spent on transfer fees, grouped by club across the 2016/17 to 2025/26 window.
  • It is not wages, agent fees, owner wealth, squad value, or net worth. It is just recorded transfer expenditure in that 10-season span.
  • Big spend does not automatically mean smart spend. Some clubs bought eras, some bought chaos, and some paid huge sums just to stand still.

This is one of football’s clearest industrial-age numbers: a running total of how much cash clubs pushed into the transfer market over a decade.
