What This Octave Figure Means
This figure compares the approximate playable span we could support for each instrument, measured in octaves.
- The parser prefers explicit range fields and note-pair spans when pages expose them cleanly.
- When a page states the span in prose, the game converts that wording into one comparable octave number.
- A small manual rescue layer fills a few obvious pages whose range sentence is clear to a reader but messy for the parser.
Written range, sounding range, instrument variants, and modern extended techniques do not always line up. This number is a playable shorthand, not the final word.
