What Body Mass Means
This game uses EOL TraitBank body-mass rows matched to the reviewed animal image manifest by EOL page and scientific name.
- Values are normalized to kilograms from EOL TraitBank source rows.
- When multiple rows exist for an animal, the game uses the largest positive row, which usually keeps adult-size records ahead of juvenile or neonate records.
- The reveal source context keeps the underlying EOL trait id, source URL, citation, and measurement values.
Body mass is wonderfully unfair: grams, kilograms, and whales all share the same slider.
