What This Fat Figure Means
This game compares per-100-gram nutrition values for fruits and vegetables, using USDA food-composition data where a clean raw-produce match exists.
- Each round compares one published raw produce value per 100 grams, so a berry is being measured against a beet on the same weight basis.
- USDA FoodData Central is the preferred source whenever the produce item lines up cleanly with a raw commodity entry, with Wikipedia produce nutrition pages used only as a fallback.
- Cultivar, ripeness, storage, and raw-versus-prepared conventions can all move the number around the edges, so treat the value as a comparative baseline.
A few outlier fruits and seeds blow up the idea that plant produce is automatically low-fat when compared on equal weight.
