What This Women-in-Parliament Figure Means
This game compares the share of seats currently held by women in each country’s lower or single national parliamentary chamber.
- You are comparing the current percentage of women in the lower or unicameral chamber, not the cabinet, courts, or local government.
- This uses the live IPU Parline women-ranking data and rounds the public percentage to one decimal place for gameplay.
- A high share can reflect quotas, party lists, constitutional design, or recent election shifts, not just a simple linear story of equality.
- In each round, pick the country with the higher percentage, or SAME when the rounded figures match.
Representation is not the same thing as power. A headline percentage can still hide who leads parties, controls ministries, or gets shut out before elections even begin.
